Kgalagadi to Augrabies Extreme Marathon

The Kalahari to Augrabies Extreme Marathon (KAEM) of 252 kms recently took place over 7 days (including a mandatory rest day). The tone was set from the very first day when the 34 extreme athletes from 9 countries set off in temperatures that steadily climbed to 46 degrees celcius.

Greening Up around Augrabies

From the 1-7 September 2006 the Augrabies Falls National Park celebrated Arbor Week. This commemoration was two-fold; on the one hand the park was visited by the Sentraal Primary School Kakamas as well as the Keimoes High School and on the other hand the park led a tree-planting ceremony held on Wednesday 6 September in the community of Langverwag, Kakamas.

The Magnificent Augrabies Falls

The spectacular wonder that is the Augrabies National Park is once again alive – thanks to the recent rainfalls in the Northern Cape. Over the last couple of weeks, hundreds of visitors from around the country have been flocking to Augrabies, 120kms from Upington to experience the powerful flow of water – unleashed from rocky surroundings.
